(June 2, 2020). Las bibliotecas ya pueden tratar de forma específica la cuarentena de los ejemplares con la versión AbsysNet 2.2.5. Esta versión intermedia cuenta con una nueva situación del ejemplar, Q-Cuarentena, que implica que está «temporalmente fuera de préstamo». La funcionalidad Q-Cuarentena se activa automáticamente en las devoluciones y se desactiva automáticamente cuando pasan los días definidos en la fecha de fin. La versión 2.2.5 de AbsysNet ya ha sido compilada y testeada, y está disponible para todas las plataformas soportadas por la versión 2.2. Múltiples bibliotecas y redes de bibliotecas ya la han implementado y comienzan a disfrutar de su funcionalidad.

New Mexico State Library selects Auto-Graphics' MONTAGE to Upgrade their Digital Collection Software Management System

(June 2, 2020). Auto-Graphic announced their digital collection management solution, MONTAGE, has been purchased by the New Mexico State Library. The addition of this software to their resources will improve the state's efforts to capture, harvest, and provide public access to digital state government publications. The Montage solution will allow the government documents staff at the State Library to process digital state government information in a more efficient and thus productive method. The new public interface will also allow visitors to the digital collections site an easier and more intuitive way to search and discover New Mexico state government publications. Further, Montage will provide improved “scan to patron” workflow allowing the New Mexico State Library to expand their digital government information holdings over the next year.

Publishers file suit against Internet Archive for systematic mass scanning and distribution of literary works

(June 1, 2020). Member companies of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Internet Archive (“IA”) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The suit asks the Court to enjoin IA's mass scanning, public display, and distribution of entire literary works, which it offers to the public at large through global-facing businesses coined “Open Library” and “National Emergency Library,” accessible at both openlibrary.org and archive.org. IA has brazenly reproduced some 1.3 million bootleg scans of print books, including recent works, commercial fiction and non-fiction, thrillers, and children's books.

University of Texas Health San Antonio Goes Live on Libki with ByWater Support

Patron Point connects with Demco SignUp

(May 27, 2020). Patron Point announced it has connected the events feed from Demco SignUp into its marketing automation platform. Libraries can now automatically pull events they have listed in their Demco SignUp system and seamlessly include them in Patron Point campaigns. The events can be promoted in one-off emails, as part of newsletters, or within the day-to-day notices such as hold pick up notices, courtesy notices and overdue notices sent by Patron Point.

EBSCO Information Services announced that Advanced Procurement Universities and Colleges (APUC), the centre of procurement expertise for universities in Scotland, has appointed EBSCO to a competitive multi-supplier Library Management Systems framework agreement for university libraries in the United Kingdom. Institutions with membership of SUPC, LUPC, NWUPC, NEUPC or HEPWC may also use the framework. UK Institutions undertaking a competitive framework mini-competition will be able to evaluate a range of solutions including the option of FOLIO Library Services Platform and EBSCO's expertise in implementing, hosting and providing services through EBSCO FOLIO Services.
